In 2005, on one of our medical mission trips to St. Vincent, we met a six year-old boy named Devin Richards who was born with deformed legs and walked on his knees.  Sitting on Dr. Keen's lap he told him he wanted to wear a pair of Nikes.   Touched by this simple statement Dr. Keen went back to the United States and arranged for corrective surgery for Devin  at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Donald Dewey on November 7th, 2005.
Through months of doctor's visits and physical therapy sessions, Devin  was fitted with his new prosthetic legs made by Dr. Geoff Harman of Hanger, Inc.

Devin left for home to St. Vincent wearing
his new pair of Nike shoes. A dream fulfilled.

If you would like to help CAMEO on future endeavors such as these, please make your donations at the bottom of the page.
